The Playground Partners and the Consumnes Legacy Foundation are joining efforts to revive Pirates Island Playground in Elk Grove regional park.
The Pirates Island Playground structures, previously located on a 1/2 acre island in Elk Grove Regional Park Lake, were built in 1972, but demolished in the late 1980s due to non-compliance safety standards. The island now sits vacant and the largest park in Elk Grove offers no playground for the over 1,000,000 visitors each year.
Many long time Elk Grove residents hold fond memories of the adventures experienced in the playground of days past.
We need your help to make this playground a reality!
